Rank MathRank Math Review (2026)PRO Excludes Client Sites

Growth & RevenueResearched assessment · by Daniel HaketUpdated 2026-09-01

The free version is so generous that many sites never need to upgrade — PRO mainly earns its keep once you want built-in rank tracking, Content AI credits or to manage many sites. Don't pay until you hit those. Throughout this review we weigh it against Yoast SEO.

Best for: WordPress site owners who want a powerful, feature-rich SEO plugin — the free version alone beats most paid rivals.

Pricing (2026)

✓ Pricing re-verified 26 Aug 2026

Pro is €7.99 a month, Business €24.99 and Agency €54.99, each billed annually and excluding VAT, against list prices of €8.99, €27.99 and €64.99. Pro covers unlimited personal sites and 500 keywords; Business 100 client sites and 10,000 keywords; Agency 500 sites and 50,000. The euros are not a European quirk of our reading: we checked from a US connection and the storefront still priced in euros, so an American pays in euros too and carries whatever their card charges to convert. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

What the price did

We capture Rank Math’s own pricing page every month and keep the figures, so this is our record of the page — not a forecast, and not someone else’s summary.

One to read carefully, because the numbers did not move but the currency did. Our July 2026 capture of Rank Math's pricing page recorded the same set of figures in dollars that the August 2026 capture recorded in euros — identical numerals, different symbol. That is a storefront switch, not a price change, and it is the kind of thing that makes a tool look cheaper or dearer than it is depending on where you read it from. When we re-read the page on 17 August 2026 it was still quoting euros, with the first-year and renewal prices shown side by side.

What buyers report about Rank Math

Recurring themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026. We have not run Rank Math ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.

What they praise
  • A genuinely free tier that covers what most sites need, and an interface beginners can navigate without an SEO background.
  • Feature-for-feature it does more than the paid competition at the same price.
  • On WordPress.org, where the plugin has thousands of reviews, the striking thing is not the score but the behaviour: Rank Math staff reply to essentially every review thread, including the critical ones, usually within days and asking for details rather than defending.
What they complain about
  • Renewal is where the complaints are. Reviewers report being charged without effective notice — one describes $86.26 taken, being told a reminder went out 7 days earlier, and no refund offered.
  • The renewal price is higher than the first-year price. Budget the second year, not the first.
  • Content AI credits do not roll over month to month.
  • Renewal reminders are described as aggressive.
  • The concrete failure reported there in August 2026 is a conflict rather than a missing feature: a reviewer describes Rank Math Pro disrupting Elementor, and the free version with the front-end admin toolbar enabled leaving WooCommerce product pages blank until the plugin is deactivated. Rank Math replied that this is not expected behaviour and asked to investigate — so treat it as a conflict to test on a staging site, not as a known defect.

If you touch one client site, PRO is not your price

Rank Math publishes two prices for every plan and the second one is the one you will actually pay. PRO is €7.99 a month billed annually and renews at €8.99 plus taxes. Business is €24.99 renewing at €27.99. Agency is €54.99 renewing at €64.99. The renewal step is about 12% on PRO and Business — and 18% on Agency, which is the plan least likely to be watching for it (re-verified 2026-08-17; the storefront served us euros from an EU address).

The word doing the most work on that page is 'unlimited'. PRO gives unlimited websites you own — client sites excluded. So the moment you do any work on a site that is not yours, PRO is not a plan you are allowed to use, and your real entry price is Business at €24.99. That is 3.1× the advertised figure, and it is a licensing distinction rather than a feature one, which is exactly the kind that gets discovered after the card is charged.

If you are staying personal, the keyword meter is what decides the step. PRO tracks 500 keywords at €7.99, which is €0.016 per keyword a month; Business tracks 10,000 at €24.99, or €0.0025 — six times better. Agency's 50,000 at €54.99 works out at €0.0011, another 2.3× improvement, and its 500 client sites cost €0.11 each against Business's €0.25. In other words, every step up this ladder is genuinely cheaper per unit, which is unusual and worth knowing: if you are tracking more than 500 keywords, staying on PRO is the expensive choice.

The bundle deserves one look. Rank Math plus WP Rocket is €11.99 renewing at €13.99, so WP Rocket costs €4.00 a month inside the bundle and €5.00 after renewal — a 25% step on that component alone, steeper than either product's own renewal increase. None of which changes the honest headline: the free version is good enough that a lot of sites never need any of this. PRO earns its keep at the point where you want built-in rank tracking, Content AI credits, or many sites under one licence. Until one of those three is true, the correct plan is the free one.

How to actually use Rank Math

Install the free version and run it for a full month before you look at a price. It is capable enough that a single site with a reasonable content workflow may never need more. And the three things that justify paying — rank tracking, Content AI credits, many sites on one licence — are all things you will notice the absence of, rather than things you need to test for.

Before you do pay, settle the licensing question in writing if there is any doubt: PRO's 'unlimited websites' means sites you own, and client sites are excluded. If you build or maintain anything for someone else, your entry plan is Business at €24.99, not PRO at €7.99. Then budget the renewal rather than the first year. PRO renews at €8.99, Business at €27.99, Agency at €64.99 — and note that Agency's step is 18% rather than the 12% the two lower plans take.

Count your keywords too: past 500 you are paying six times more per tracked keyword on PRO than you would on Business.

The natural comparison is Yoast SEO or The SEO Framework — other WordPress SEO plugins. Weigh it against Yoast SEO on the job you actually need done.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Rank Math and WP Rocket bundle worth it?

It is the single most-searched thing about Rank Math on our pages, so here is the arithmetic as read on 17 August 2026: the bundle is €11.99 a month billed annually, renewing at €13.99, against €7.99 (renewing €8.99) for Rank Math PRO alone. You are therefore paying about €4 a month for the WP Rocket side. Whether that beats buying WP Rocket separately depends on how many sites you run — check WP Rocket's own licence count before you commit, since that is where the value sits or does not.

What does Rank Math cost in year two?

More than year one, and the page says so plainly: PRO renews at €8.99 a month plus taxes against a first-year €7.99, Business at €27.99 against €24.99, and Agency at €64.99 against €54.99. All are billed annually. This is the most common complaint about Rank Math in reviews, and it is not hidden — it is on the pricing page, under the price.

Does PRO really cover unlimited websites?

Unlimited websites that you own. Client websites are explicitly excluded, and that is the line that decides which tier a freelancer needs: Business at €24.99 covers 100 client sites and Agency at €54.99 covers 500. If you build for other people, PRO is not the plan regardless of how few sites you have.

What should I weigh before buying Growth & Revenue software?

It depends on whether you have the bottleneck it solves. Small teams get the most out of this category when one clear problem is already costing real hours or revenue; buying ahead of that just adds cost and another login. Price it against the hours or lost deals it removes, not against its feature list, and start on the smallest plan that covers the job.
