Lowest paid entry price per account a month, billed monthly, in USD, among the 49 e-commerce growth apps we have researched (read between 2026-08-19 and 2026-10-05). Only tools priced in the same unit and on the same billing are compared — not a market survey, and cheapest is not best.
Three plans, each a monthly fee plus a transaction fee, and each with a 30-day free trial. Launch is $24.99 a month plus a 2% transaction fee and already includes the working core: subscription maximizers, customizable frequencies, order-based and fixed-date billing, dunning, prepaid subscriptions, unlimited subscribers and standard support. Grow is $49.99 a month plus 1%, and Scale is $74.99 a month plus 0.9%.
The listing names no feature that Grow or Scale adds beyond the lower fee; the support line reads 'Standard support' on all three. All charges are billed in USD, and recurring and usage-based charges are billed every 30 days. The listing does not say which transactions the fee is charged on; we read it as the subscription orders the app processes, and that is worth confirming before you install. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.
Category context: E-commerce. Across the 35 tools in this category that we researched with a public US-dollar price, the median entry price is $19 a month (lowest paid plan as listed, per seat where the vendor prices per seat). Bold Subscriptions’s entry price of $24.99 a month sits above that median. Compare pricing conditions in the Software Cost Atlas →

Every plan adds a transaction fee of 0.9% to 2% on top of the monthly price, so the bill grows with your subscription revenue: at $30,000 a month it is about $350 even on the best plan. The higher plans buy nothing but that lower fee, and all three list the same standard support. The recent reviews we read are uneven: praise for chat support sits beside a merchant double-charged for nearly three years after a version merge (June 2026), a store down for 48 hours after an app update with no refund offered (February 2026), and a week without an answer to support emails (May 2026).
The data access is wide, including viewing sensitive customer data and editing orders. We have not run the app ourselves; this dossier is read from the listing and its reviews.
Shopify subscription app by Bold: subscribe-and-save, replenishment, prepaid and subscription-box offers with a customer portal, dunning for failed payments, cancellation flows, upsells and free migration from other subscription apps.

On the listing, the only thing that changes between the three plans is the transaction fee, so the choice is arithmetic rather than features. Launch to Grow costs $25 more a month and takes the fee from 2% to 1%, which pays for itself once the fee applies to more than $2,500 a month of subscription orders. Grow to Scale costs another $25 a month and takes 1% to 0.9%, which only pays at more than $25,000 a month.
Worked through: at $1,000 a month of subscription orders, Launch costs $44.99, Grow $59.99 and Scale $83.99, so Launch is cheapest. At $10,000 a month, Launch is $224.99, Grow $149.99 and Scale $164.99, so Grow wins. At $30,000, Launch is $624.99, Grow $349.99 and Scale $344.99, and Scale has only just overtaken Grow. Most stores that outgrow Launch will sit on Grow for a long time. What no plan changes is the shape of the bill: there is always a percentage on top, so the cost keeps growing with your subscription revenue.
And every plan lists the same 'Standard support', so paying more does not buy faster help.
Install from the Shopify App Store and the 30-day free trial starts; the plan is chosen at install and the fee is billed through Shopify every 30 days. If you are coming from another subscription app, ask for the migration before you build anything: the listing offers complimentary white-glove migration from other subscription apps, and moving existing subscribers and their payment details is the part you should not do by hand.
Read the data access before you click Install. The listing says the app views sensitive customer data plus device and activity data, views store owner and blog-contributor data, and views and edits customers, products, orders and the Online Store. That is consistent with an app that creates recurring orders and a customer portal, but it is wide. Then set up in this order: the subscription offer on the product page (frequencies, subscribe-and-save discount, prepaid options), the customer portal where subscribers skip, swap and cancel, and dunning for failed payments.
The listing names integrations with Klaviyo, PayPal Express, Authorize.net, Prosperstack, Churnbuster and Zapier, and Bold Custom Pricing for subscriber-only prices. One thing to check in your first month, from the reviews we read: a June 2026 review describes being double-charged for nearly three years because an old app version was never uninstalled after a required merge. Look at the app charges in your Shopify billing and make sure only one Bold Subscriptions charge appears.
The Shopify App Store listing at https://apps.shopify.com/bold-subscriptions, read in a live browser on 2026-10-05: the three plans with their fees, features and 30-day trials, the billing note (USD, every 30 days), the feature list, the integrations (Checkout, customer accounts, Shopify Admin, Bold Upsell, Klaviyo, Govalo, PayPal Express, Authorize.net, Prosperstack, Churnbuster, Zapier), the developer record (Bold, 200-1460 Chevrier Blvd, Winnipeg, Canada), the launch date of 15 October 2020, the data-access section, and the newest merchant reviews on the reviews tab (381 in total).
Bold's own homepage, boldcommerce.com, read the same day, places the app beside rePete, Bold Custom Pricing and Bold Upsell. We have not run Bold Subscriptions ourselves, and we found no independent test we could weigh.
Each column shows the vendor’s own published entry price, read on the date shown. Entry prices can cover different services or units, so check what each one buys. We do not average them into a score.

The natural comparison is rePete — rePete is in our dossiers too, and it comes from the same company: Bold builds both. They answer the same question from opposite ends. Bold Subscriptions locks customers into a schedule and charges $24.99 to $74.99 a month plus a 0.9% to 2% fee on the orders it processes. rePete has no subscription at all: it predicts when each customer is due to reorder, nudges them, and takes 3% of reorders within 24 hours, 1% within seven days and 5% on add-ons, with no monthly fee. Bold's own homepage positions them together, subscriptions for customers who want a schedule and rePete for those who refuse one. If most of your repeat buyers will not subscribe, rePete is the one to model first; if they will, compare Bold's fee against your subscription revenue at the plan you would actually sit on..
It depends only on your subscription revenue, because the plans differ in their transaction fee. Read on 5 October 2026: Launch is $24.99 a month plus 2%, Grow $49.99 plus 1%, Scale $74.99 plus 0.9%. Grow beats Launch above about $2,500 a month of subscription orders, and Scale beats Grow only above about $25,000.
Not on the listing we read on 5 October 2026. Launch already includes unlimited subscribers, prepaid subscriptions, dunning, customizable frequencies and fixed-date billing; Grow and Scale are described as all the features of the plan below plus a reduced transaction fee, and all three list standard support.
The listing offers complimentary white-glove migration from other subscription apps, and every plan comes with a 30-day free trial. Ask for the migration before you set anything up yourself, and check your Shopify app charges afterwards so you are not billed twice for an old app or version.
Check your platform and version specifically. Shopify support is close to universal in this category, while WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and headless setups vary a lot, and 'supported' sometimes means a generic API rather than a maintained app. A listing in your own platform's app store, with recent reviews there, is a better signal than the vendor's logo wall.
