Assortion Review (2026)Shopify Upsells Priced by Orders

By · Researched and written with an AI assistant · who does what

The price follows your total store orders, so you pay the same whether the upsells sell or not, and busy months can push you into the next tier.

Best for

Shopify stores that want upsells, cross-sells, product add-ons and cart customization in one app at a flat price that grows with order volume rather than as a share of upsell revenue.

Skip it if

your store has many orders but low margins, since the price rises with every order whether or not an upsell sells; or you want upsell blocks outside the product page.

Pricing (2026)

✓ Pricing re-verified 15 Oct 2026

Assortion has one feature set and charges by the size of your store: the price depends on your total monthly store orders, not only the orders that include an upsell. 0 to 50 orders a month costs $9.99, 51 to 200 costs $19.99, 201 to 500 costs $34.99, 501 to 1,000 costs $59.99, 1,001 to 2,500 costs $89.99, 2,501 to 5,000 costs $149.99 and more than 5,000 costs $199.99.

The two top tiers overlap at exactly 5,000 orders on the page. The Shopify listing shows only the first three tiers and bills every 30 days. Development stores use the app for free with all features. Paid plans list a 14-day free trial, cart customization, upsells, product add-ons and live support. No annual price is shown. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

Category context: E-commerce. Across the 42 tools in this category that we researched with a public US-dollar price, the median entry price is $17 a month (lowest paid plan as listed, per seat where the vendor prices per seat). Assortion’s entry price of $9.99 a month sits below that median. Compare pricing conditions in the Software Cost Atlas →

The honest knock

App blocks only work on product pages. We found no refund or cancellation policy, and the page does not say how refunded orders or a tier change mid-month are handled.

What Assortion does

Shopify app for upsells, cross-sells, product add-ons and cart customization, with one feature set on every plan and a price set by the store's total monthly orders.

Assortion product
Assortion, from their own site — for context, not a paid placement.

You pay for your store's size, not for the upsells

There are no feature tiers to choose between: every paid plan carries the same upsells, add-ons and cart customization. What moves the price is your total order count, so a store doing 300 orders a month pays $34.99 whether the upsells sell anything or not. That makes the sum simple. Work out how much extra margin the upsells have to bring in each month to cover the tier you land in, and check after the 14-day trial whether they do.

Watch the step points as the store grows. Going from 500 to 501 orders moves you from $34.99 to $59.99, and from 2,500 to 2,501 from $89.99 to $149.99. A strong month can put you in the next tier, and the pages we read do not say whether the plan changes automatically or how refunded or cancelled orders are counted.

How to actually use Assortion

Start the 14-day trial and add one Assortion block to your product page. The help centre describes the route: in the Shopify admin open Online Store, click Customize, choose the default product template under Products, click 'Add block' where you want it, pick the Assortion block under Apps and click Save. Assortion says it works with both vintage and Online Store 2.0 themes, but app blocks are only supported on product pages.

Before the trial ends, check your monthly order count in Shopify, because that, not the upsell sales, sets your price. Then compare the extra revenue from the trial weeks with the tier you would pay for.

Distilled from Assortion's own pages: the pricing page assortion.com/pricing, the homepage and the help centre article on setting up app blocks at docs.assortion.com, and the Shopify App Store listing apps.shopify.com/assortion, read on 15 October 2026. We found no published refund or cancellation policy. Assortion is an affiliate partner of ours through Shoffi. We have not used the app ourselves.

Assortion vs Selleasy, side by side

Where a vendor publishes a price, its column shows the entry price we read and when; where it does not, the column says so rather than filling in a figure from elsewhere. We do not average them into a score.

The catch
The meter is your whole store, not the app.
Best for
shopify stores that want bundles, add-ons, cart funnels and post-purchase offers out of one app and would rather be billed on order volume than hand over a share of the upsell revenue — and small stores in particular, since under 50 orders a month the full strategy set costs nothing

The Assortion link above is an affiliate link — we may earn a commission if you sign up, at no extra cost to you — and the other column is a plain link. Neither changes what this table says.

The natural comparison is Selleasy — Selleasy is in our dossiers too and solves the same problem with a different meter: when we read it on 19 September 2026 it charged a share of the sales it helped make, 3% on direct sales, 1% on assisted sales and 5% on upsells and cross-sells, with no subscription. Assortion charges a fixed monthly price set by your total orders, from $9.99. If upsells drive a lot of revenue per order, a flat fee is easier to predict; if they sell little, a revenue share costs less..
