Tapita SEO OptimizerTapita SEO Optimizer Review (2026)A 2.5x Price Spread

SEO & MarketingResearched assessment · by Daniel HaketUpdated 2026-09-01

The price on the listing is a Shopify-Basic price, and almost nobody reads the line underneath it.

Best for: Shopify merchants on the Basic or Grow plan who want SEO audits, bulk metadata, image alt text and speed fixes out of one app instead of hiring a specialist.

Three tiers. Free: SEO audit and LLMs.txt on basic pages, unlimited on-page SEO audit, essential JSON-LD schemas, and image compression 900 a month capped at 30 a day. Also bulk and AI metadata optimisation, bulk image alt text and file names for 50 products, one-click page speed and 24/7 support chat. Basic $9.99 a month or $101.88 a year, a 15% saving, adds SEO audit and LLMs.txt on main pages, auto image optimisation 100 a day, 100 AI metadata credits a month, full JSON-LD schemas, broken-link detection with auto-redirects and advanced speed features.

Pro $39.99 a month or $408 a year adds all main pages, 500 images a day, 500 AI credits a month, higher speed capacity, full automation of image alt text and file names, unlimited keyword research and hands-on help fixing SEO and Search Console issues. Both paid tiers carry the same surcharge line, and it is the number that decides what this costs: +$5 on the Shopify Grow plan, +$30 on Advanced and +$60 on Shopify Plus.

So Basic is $9.99, $14.99, $39.99 or $69.99, and Pro is $39.99, $44.99, $69.99 or $99.99, depending on which Shopify plan you are on. Extra audit pages and extra AI credits are billed on top and the listing does not print a per-credit rate. All charges are billed in USD and recur every 30 days. The catch

The same Pro plan is $39.99 on Shopify Basic, $44.99 on Grow, $69.99 on Advanced and $99.99 on Shopify Plus, because Tapita adds $5, $30 or $60 on top depending on your Shopify plan. That is a two-and-a-half-fold spread on identical software, and it is the single largest factor in what this app costs you. Work out which row you are on before you compare it to anything else. The second meter has no published rate at all.

Basic gives you 100 AI metadata credits a month and Pro gives you 500, and beyond that the listing says only that more audit pages and more credits carry an extra charge. It does not say how much, and it does not say how many credits one product's metadata consumes. Tapita's own sister app publishes $0.06 a credit on its listing; this one publishes nothing, so you cannot price a month of AI metadata before you install.

And the free tier is a demonstration rather than a plan: 50 products for bulk alt text and file names, 30 images a day, and the SEO audit and LLMs.txt limited to basic pages. Any real catalogue is on a paid tier within a week, which is fine as long as you know that going in.

What buyers report about Tapita SEO Optimizer

Recurring themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026. We have not run Tapita SEO Optimizer ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.

What they praise
  • 5.0 across 2,470 reviews with 97% at five stars — one of the largest review counts of any listing covered here. What reviewers name is almost always the support team rather than the software: SolarVoxGreen (United Kingdom, about two hours, 24 August 2026) describes the team reviewing the store in detail; myspicebuds (United States, 10 days, 14 July 2026) reports Google Search Console errors corrected quickly at no extra cost; Personalized Kreation (United States, 24 days, edited 20 August 2026) reports errors fixed with clear explanations.
  • The reviews with the longest tenure carry the most weight and they are positive. Animeal (India, over two years, 29 July 2026) calls it one of the best speed optimisation apps and reports consistent reliability across four years of use; Firerescuetm LLC (United States, seven months, 9 July 2026) says the schema markup went in without complicated setup.
What they complain about
  • The eleven one-star reviews are not scattered — they cluster on money and on what the subscription does not include. LIFE ENTHUSIAST (United States, six days, 9 February 2026) calls the app expensive against comparable Shopify apps, says the AI credits are limited and that services are pushed on top. BPlanMaker (United States, three months, 28 February 2025) is the sharpest: quoted $599 for a limited set of changes with further tiers above that for a fuller fix, and asks what the ongoing subscription is buying. The vendor's public reply is that the app is a tool that requires active use rather than something that produces results on its own.
  • Refunds and downgrades are the second cluster. BLV Peru (Peru, 17 days, 19 July 2024) paid $59 for the Standard plan, moved down to the free plan and lost the paid features with no prorated refund; the vendor's reply confirms that a downgrade restricts access under its terms and offers either 30 days of paid access or a refund. Fit Plus Now (Philippines, two months, 17 October 2025) reports a refund that did not come back in full.
  • Two technical claims are serious and both are contested in public. Wonder Flavours (Canada, four days, 30 January 2024) alleges the speed feature used an obfuscated script that recognises testing tools and disables JavaScript during PageSpeed and GTmetrix runs — raising the score without changing the page — and calls that a terms violation; the vendor replies that removing unused JavaScript caused mobile issues which were fixed on report, and that its focus is Core Web Vitals rather than lab scores. Unboxme (United States, about five hours, 14 July 2024) reports a homepage broken by the speed feature that neither disabling the feature nor removing the app resolved; the vendor attributes the missing CSS file to the merchant's own team. Both exchanges are still on the listing; neither is settled.

Where the ratings disagree. The complaint that reviewers do make and the cost driver that actually decides the bill are not the same thing. Reviewers say the app is expensive, but none of the reviews read here — the first page plus the full set of sub-five-star reviews the listing filter returns — connects that to which Shopify plan the store is on, even though the same Pro plan is priced differently on Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus. Second, read the tenures next to the praise: about two hours, one day, ten days, 24 days. That is long enough to judge a support conversation and too early to judge whether a schema or speed change moved anything in search, which is what the app is bought for.

Your Shopify plan sets the price, not the tier

The number on the listing is a Shopify-Basic number, and the line underneath it is what actually decides your bill. Tapita adds a surcharge tied to your Shopify plan: +$5 on Grow, +$30 on Advanced and +$60 on Shopify Plus. So Basic is $9.99, $14.99, $39.99 or $69.99, and Pro is $39.99, $44.99, $69.99 or $99.99, for identical software. Two consequences follow, and the second one is a genuine buying rule.

First, the spread is two and a half fold: Pro on Shopify Plus costs $99.99 against $39.99 on Shopify Basic. A Plus merchant on Tapita's *cheapest* tier pays $69.99 — more than a Shopify Basic merchant pays for Tapita's most expensive one. Second, because the surcharge is charged per install rather than per tier, the gap between Basic and Pro is a flat $30 whatever Shopify plan you are on.

That changes the upgrade decision completely depending on where you sit. On Shopify Basic, Pro costs four times what Basic does and needs real justification. On Shopify Plus, Pro costs only 43% more than Basic — $99.99 against $69.99 — for five times the AI credits, five times the daily image allowance, unlimited keyword research and hands-on help with Search Console issues. If you are on Plus or Advanced, take Pro; the relative cost of the upgrade has already been paid.

The second meter has no published rate at all. Basic includes 100 AI metadata credits a month and Pro 500, and beyond that the listing says only that extra audit pages and extra credits carry a charge. It does not say how much, and it does not say how many credits one product's metadata consumes — so you cannot price a month of AI metadata before you install. Tapita's own sister app publishes $0.06 a credit; if that rate carries across, the 100 credits on Basic are about $6 of the $9.99 plan, which would make this mostly a credit purchase.

Treat that as an inference from a neighbouring listing, not a quoted price, and ask. Annual billing saves 15% — $101.88 for Basic against $119.88, and $408 for Pro against $479.88 — though it is not stated whether those annual figures include the Shopify-plan surcharge. If you are on Advanced or Plus, get that confirmed before you prepay. The free tier is a demonstration: 50 products for bulk alt text and file names, 30 images a day, and the SEO audit and LLMs.txt limited to basic pages.

Any real catalogue outgrows it within a week, which is fine as long as you go in knowing it.

How to actually use Tapita SEO Optimizer

Find your row before you compare this app to anything. The listing price assumes Shopify Basic, and Tapita adds $5 on Grow, $30 on Advanced and $60 on Plus — so the same Pro plan is $39.99, $44.99, $69.99 or $99.99 depending on a line most people never read. Then let that decide your tier rather than your feature list. Because the surcharge is per install, the step from Basic to Pro is a flat $30 whatever Shopify plan you are on: four times the price on Shopify Basic, but only 43% more on Plus.

On Advanced or Plus, take Pro — you have already paid the expensive part. Ask two questions before you subscribe. How many AI credits one product's metadata consumes, and what an extra credit costs — the listing publishes neither, so a month of AI metadata is unpriceable in advance. And whether the annual rates ($101.88 and $408) include your Shopify-plan surcharge, because if you are on Plus that is $720 a year of difference.

Use the free tier to check quality on a sample. Fifty products for bulk alt text is enough to see whether the generated metadata reads like your brand or like a template, which is the only thing worth testing before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

What should I weigh before buying SEO & Marketing software?

Judge it on evidence rather than adjectives. Look for a published security page, single sign-on and role controls on the plan you would actually buy (they are often gated to higher tiers), a status page with real incident history, and a clear answer on where your data is stored. If the tool will hold anything sensitive, those four answers matter more than any feature comparison.
