SimilarwebSimilarweb Review (2026)From $125/Month, Teams Quote-Only

SEO & MarketingResearched assessment · by Daniel HaketUpdated 2026-09-01

Similarweb does publish a price — $125 a month for one seat on annual billing, or $199 if you pay monthly.

Best for: a single analyst or marketer who needs competitor traffic and channel estimates often enough to justify $125 a month, and teams who are prepared to negotiate an annual contract for more than one seat.

Pricing (2026)

✓ Pricing re-verified 29 Aug 2026

The entrepreneur plans are published: $125 per month on annual billing for Competitive Intelligence, $333 for Competitive Intel & SEO & AEO, and $542 for Competitive Intel, SEO & AEO & Ads — or $199, $399 and $649 respectively on monthly billing, each for a single user. Included history differs by plan and is easy to miss: 3 months on the entry plan, 6 months on the two above it.

What is not published is the business and enterprise tab: it carries no figure at all and routes every tier to 'Talk to sales' for a custom package, and the FAQ repeats that premium features require one. A free trial is offered without a stated length. Up to 37 months of data history is sold as an add-on rather than an inclusion, and API access is either standalone or inside a custom package. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

The catch

What it does not publish is anything above one seat: the business and enterprise tab carries no figure at all and routes straight to a sales call, where the number depends on what they think you can pay. So the decision splits in two. One analyst can price this today and start a trial without speaking to anyone. A team walks into a negotiation, and should walk in with a ceiling already written down — plus the two line items priced apart from the seats: 37 months of data history is an add-on, and API access is quoted separately.

What Similarweb does

Competitive intelligence on web traffic, search and ads — what your competitors' visitors do.

Similarweb product
Similarweb, from their own site — for context, not a paid placement.

What buyers report about Similarweb

Recurring themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026 (Chrome Web Store reviews dated May to 5 August 2026). We have not run Similarweb ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.

What they praise
  • Traffic and market intelligence at a depth nothing self-serve matches — for competitive research at scale it is the reference point.
  • Coverage of large sites is genuinely good, which is what enterprise buyers are paying for.
  • The free browser extension is what most people meet first, and the praise for it is narrow and practical: one click on any site shows its visit numbers, which reviewers call the fastest way to do competitor research without opening the paid product.
What they complain about
  • The free trial is 7 days, requires a card, and auto-renews into a paid plan. Trustpilot carries recurring reports of $1,500+ charges after a missed cancellation. If you trial it, set the reminder immediately.
  • Annual contracts auto-renew on a 60-day notice window with no money-back guarantee.
  • Nothing is published. Vendr data shows total cost often doubling the sticker price through mandatory add-on modules ($15k+), API overages and mid-contract seat premiums of 10-20%.
  • Renewals typically rise 10-20% unless you negotiate.
  • Data accuracy on smaller sites is a recurring complaint in the reviews themselves, though the overall score is 4.4 out of 5 across 747 Trustpilot reviews (read 24 August 2026).
  • Every English-language review on the recent page of the Chrome Web Store listing, from May through 5 August 2026, is about privacy rather than about data quality. Reviewers say the extension collects browsing activity across every URL they visit, not only when they use it, and several quote the privacy policy back at Similarweb.
  • We checked that policy ourselves rather than taking the reviewers' word for it, and the core of the claim holds: Similarweb's privacy policy states it may 'sell' or 'share' personal information such as identifiers and internet and electronic network activity information with third-party ad networks, and lists 'Audio, Video, and other Electronic Data' among the categories disclosed to third parties in the prior 12 months.
  • One part of the claim we could not confirm: several reviewers say the extension exfiltrates AI chat logs. The privacy policy does not mention AI chat content either way, and we have not verified the behaviour ourselves, so treat that specific allegation as unproven.
  • One reviewer reports the extension breaking Cloudflare challenges while enabled (July 2026).

Where the ratings disagree. The extension listing and Trustpilot are arguing about different things, and both matter to a different buyer. Trustpilot's complaints are commercial — the card-backed trial, the auto-renewal, the accuracy of estimates on smaller sites. The Chrome Web Store complaints are about what the free extension does to the person running it. That listing carries a high overall rating from around 3.8 thousand ratings and a million users, so the recent written reviews are not the whole picture — but they are unanimous on one point, and if your team installs the extension across its browsers, the privacy policy is the document to read before the pricing page.

Published for one seat, quoted for teams

The price is published — for one seat. Read again on 29 August 2026, the entrepreneur tab lists three plans at $125, $333 and $542 per month on annual billing, or $199, $399 and $649 if you pay monthly. Each is a single user, and what the step up buys is scope: competitive intelligence alone, then SEO and AEO on top, then advertising data as well. The business and enterprise tab is a different proposition commercially.

There is no figure on it at all — every tier routes to 'Talk to sales' for a custom package, and the FAQ says the same about premium features. So the honest summary is not that Similarweb hides its prices. It publishes the single-seat price and negotiates everything above it. That distinction decides how you should buy. If one analyst needs the data, you can settle the question yourself today and start a trial without speaking to anyone.

The moment you need a second seat you are in a negotiation where they know what comparable firms pay and you do not — so fix your ceiling and your fallback tool before the call rather than during it. Two things are priced apart from the seats and are easy to assume are included. Data history up to 37 months is an add-on, and what comes bundled is short: 3 months on the entry plan and 6 on the two above it, and if your work is trend analysis then history is the product.

API access is sold standalone or inside a custom package. Get both quoted at the same time as the seats. There is a free trial, though the page does not state its length. Set your own cancellation reminder on the day you start rather than relying on the page to tell you when it ends.

How to actually use Similarweb

If you need one seat, you can settle this without a phone call. The entrepreneur plans are published — $125, $333 or $542 per month on annual billing — so the only question is which scope you actually need. Competitive Intelligence is the traffic and channel data, the middle plan adds SEO and AEO, the top plan adds advertising. Monthly billing costs $199, $399 or $649 instead, so the annual commitment saves roughly a third and that gap is the real decision.

If you need more than one seat, write down what you would pay before you take the call. Everything on the business and enterprise tab is a custom package, so you will be quoted against what they think you can afford — and the only defence is having your own number, and the alternative you would use instead, decided in advance. Ask for the rate card in writing and ask what happens at renewal.

Quote the add-ons at the same time as the seats, because two of them are things people assume are included. Data history up to 37 months is sold separately, and if you are doing trend work that history is the actual product. API access is priced apart as well. Then use the trial on a question you already know the answer to. Run a competitor whose traffic you can verify from another source and see how close the estimates land.

Panel-based traffic estimates are directionally useful and never exact, and knowing the size of the error on your own market is worth more than any feature demo.

Distilled from Similarweb's pricing page (similarweb.com/corp/pricing), read 29 August 2026 on both tabs — the entrepreneur cards for the published single-seat prices and included history, the businesses-and-enterprises tab for what is quote-only, and the FAQ below on trials, annual billing and cancellation.

The natural comparison is Semrush or Ahrefs — the tools people weigh this against — all three publish a single-seat price, so the comparison comes down to scope per dollar.

The ex-banker filter — the same yardstick on every review (how we review): My ex-banker filter is simple: does Similarweb remove a real cost — time, errors, missed revenue — bigger than what it charges? If the job above is genuinely yours, it's worth a look. We never publish fake or “exclusive” prices, so always confirm the current plan on their site.

Frequently asked questions

What does Similarweb cost?

$125 per month for a single seat on annual billing, read on 29 August 2026 on their own pricing page. Two larger single-seat plans sit above it at $333 and $542, and monthly billing costs $199, $399 or $649 instead. Those are the entrepreneur plans. The business and enterprise tab publishes no figure at all — every tier there routes to 'Talk to sales' for a custom package, so above one seat the number you are quoted is set by what a salesperson thinks you will pay.

What should I pin down before the sales call?

Three things that are priced apart from the seats. Data history is an add-on — the page offers up to 37 months as an extra, not an inclusion. API access is sold standalone or inside the custom package. And the trial has no stated length on the page. Ask for the rate card in writing and ask what happens at renewal, because above one seat there is no list price to hold a renewal quote against.

Is the free trial safe to start?

Start it deliberately rather than casually. The page offers a free trial without stating how long it runs, so the length you get is whatever the signup flow gives you. Set your own cancellation reminder on the day you sign up instead of relying on the page to tell you when it ends.

What should I weigh before buying SEO & Marketing software?

Judge it on evidence rather than adjectives. Look for a published security page, single sign-on and role controls on the plan you would actually buy (they are often gated to higher tiers), a status page with real incident history, and a clear answer on where your data is stored. If the tool will hold anything sensitive, those four answers matter more than any feature comparison.
