DropGeniusDropGenius Review (2026)Billing Complaints and Pricing

We have to be blunt here: the dominant theme in DropGenius’s public buyer reviews is unauthorised charges continuing after cancellation with no route to a refund, and some reviewers report never reaching a dashboard to cancel at all, with support emails bouncing back undeliverable.

Best for: absolute beginners who want a pre-built Shopify dropshipping store scaffold in minutes and understand it's a starting point, not a business.

Pricing (2026)

✓ Pricing re-verified 19 Sep 2026

Re-verified 19 September 2026 on their own pricing page, unchanged since August. Monthly: Starter $39, Pro $59, Empire $99, Unicorn $299, each with a 14-day free trial. Switch to annual billing and Starter disappears from the table; the rest become Pro $24/mo (billed annually at $288), Empire $57/mo ($684) and Unicorn $79/mo ($948). The meter is catalogue size: Starter 25 unique products, Pro 250 unique plus 25 premium, Empire 10,000 and 10,000, Unicorn 25,000 and 25,000.

The FAQ on their own homepage, re-read the same day, still quotes an older $39.99-$299.99 range plus a $1.99 one-time store-creation fee, so the marketing copy and the pricing table continue to disagree. Nothing anywhere on the pricing page mentions the Shopify subscription the generated store runs on. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

The catch

An AI-generated store in 30 seconds is also just a starting template — the product selection, marketing and margins remain entirely your problem. If you proceed: pay attention to cancellation mechanics from day one, screenshot everything, and treat the Renewal Radar as mandatory equipment.

What DropGenius does

Generates a Shopify dropshipping store — products, branding and copy — as a starting template, not a finished business.

What buyers report about DropGenius

Recurring themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026. We have not run DropGenius ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.

What they praise
  • • The onboarding quiz genuinely produces a Shopify store with products and branding in under two minutes, and 150,000+ stores have been generated.
  • • Full customisation afterwards, so it is a starting point rather than a locked template.
What they complain about
  • • The dominant theme in buyer reviews is unauthorised charges after cancellation with no route to a refund, and some users report being unable to reach a dashboard to cancel at all — with support emails bouncing as undeliverable.
  • • Every DropGenius store pulls from the same Spocket catalogue, so you are selling identical products to every other DropGenius store.
  • • It builds the store and sends nobody to it. The marketing is still entirely yours.
  • • $39.99 to $299.99 a month, plus a separate Shopify subscription from $29.

When the paid plan is worth it

The cheapest way to buy this is not the cheapest plan. Monthly the ladder reads Starter $39, Pro $59, Empire $99 and Unicorn $299. Switch to annual and Starter vanishes from the table entirely, while Pro drops to $24 a month ($288 a year), Empire to $57 ($684) and Unicorn to $79 ($948). So an annual Pro subscription costs $15 a month LESS than paying monthly for Starter, the tier below it — and you get the better plan.

Those annual discounts are unusually steep: 59% on Pro and 74% on Unicorn. A discount that large normally means the monthly price is set high to make the annual look good, so treat $24 as the real price of Pro and $59 as the penalty for staying flexible. Two things are not on the pricing table. Their own FAQ still quotes an older $39.99 to $299.99 range plus a $1.99 one-time store-creation fee, so the marketing copy and the checkout disagree.

And the store this builds runs on Shopify, which bills you separately and is priced nowhere on DropGenius's pages.

We checked this price twice

Our monthly capture read this vendor's pricing page in July 2026 and again in August 2026, and the amounts were the same both times. We keep watching — the registry records what moves.

How to actually use DropGenius

Know how to stop the charges before you start them. The dominant theme in public buyer reviews is unauthorised charges continuing after cancellation with no route to a refund, and some reviewers report never reaching a dashboard to cancel at all. Find the cancellation route in the account settings on day one, screenshot it, and screenshot the price you were actually charged. Check that price carefully, because their own pages disagree.

The FAQ still quotes an older $39.99-$299.99 range plus a $1.99 one-time store-creation fee, while the checkout shows Starter $39, Pro $59, Empire $99 and Unicorn $299 monthly. On annual billing Starter disappears entirely and the rest become $24, $57 and $79 a month. Budget Shopify separately: the store this builds runs on Shopify, which bills you on its own, so the subscription you are comparing is not the cost of having a store.

And treat the output as a starting template rather than a business. An AI-generated store in thirty seconds still leaves product selection, marketing and margin entirely to you.

Distilled from The monthly and annual plan tables, the 14-day trial and the unique/premium product limits read on dropgenius.com/pricing on 6 September 2026 — every figure unchanged from the 5 August reading. The older $39.99-$299.99 range and the $1.99 store-creation fee come from their own FAQ, which still carries them.

The natural comparison is Spocket + your own Shopify setup — building on Spocket directly (same ecosystem) gives you the supplier network without the store-generator layer — and cleaner reviews.

Frequently asked questions

Which price is the real one — $39 or $39.99, and what is the $1.99?

Both are live on dropgenius.com on 19 September 2026, in two places that do not agree. The pricing table prices four monthly plans at $39, $59, $99 and $299, each with a 14-day free trial, and names no set-up charge anywhere on the page. The FAQ on their own homepage, read the same day, says pricing starts at just $1.99 for a one-time fee to create your AI-powered Shopify store and that monthly plans range from $39.99 to $299.99. Nothing on either page tells you which is current — the table looks newer and carries the checkout buttons, the FAQ copy looks left behind. Before you enter a card, screenshot the plan card you clicked: if the first invoice carries a $1.99 line, or a .99 on the subscription, you will want the page as it stood on the day you signed.

Is the cheapest plan the cheapest way in?

No, and the annual table is where that flips. Read on 19 September 2026: Starter is $39 a month and appears only on the monthly toggle. Switch to yearly and Starter is gone — the cheapest rung becomes Pro at $24 a month, billed annually at $288. So the entry plan costs $468 over a year, while the tier above it, carrying ten times the catalogue (250 unique products plus 25 premium against Starter's 25), costs $288 for the same twelve months. If you expect to stay past the 14-day trial, Starter is the plan to skip. What you are trading is commitment for price: $288 up front against $39 a month you can stop whenever you like.

Does the subscription cover the store itself?

No, and the pricing page never raises the question. DropGenius builds a Shopify store — their own homepage calls it an AI-powered Shopify store — and a Shopify store needs a Shopify subscription, which Shopify bills you for separately. We read the whole pricing page on 19 September 2026: it names no Shopify cost, no arrangement with Shopify and no bundled plan, and the four cards price DropGenius alone. The meter tells the same story from the other side, because it counts unique and premium products you may import — not orders, not traffic, not ad spend. Budget the platform fee, the domain and whatever it costs to put visitors in front of the imported catalogue. The store that arrives in minutes is scaffolding, not demand.

What should I weigh before buying Growth & Revenue software?

It depends on whether you have the bottleneck it solves. Small teams get the most out of this category when one clear problem is already costing real hours or revenue; buying ahead of that just adds cost and another login. Price it against the hours or lost deals it removes, not against its feature list, and start on the smallest plan that covers the job.
